Ratings Update 02-19-08
The National League of Rollerchairball posted a ratings update that covers matches through February 19, 2008. The Top 15 players are noted on the home page at all times, but a full list of rated players can be found here.
The action from February 19 shook up the NLR’s rating ladder quite a bit. The Top 15 has been extremely stable over the past few months, but the bottom of that section shifted a bit last week. George Doyle teamed with Gavin Rutter for a key victory over 15th-rated Maggie Cellar and 14th-rated Mackenzie Eckert, which propelled Doyle into the Top 15. Undaunted, Cellar scored a big win with fifth-rated Taylor Greene over second-rated Doug Tatz and Laura Hirsel. The 20-17.5 win allowed Cellar to surpass Eckert, which keeps her in this week’s Top 15 and relegates Eckert to a spot off the main page for the first time in recent history.
Elsewhere, Anja Ødegaard moved up four spots, but the big-mover-of-the-week award goes to Suzanne Hirsel, who pogoed 12 spots from 54th to 42nd. Look for Suzanne Hirsel to continue her rise up the ranks, as long as she remains active enough to keep up with the top players in the league.
Top-rated Kyle Stout is six points from becoming the first player to hit 2100 points. Simultaneously, Brandon Lock is a mere three points from becoming the third player to hit the 1800-point plateau. One more win should put him above the magic number. Greene is within two points of fourth-rated Andrew Wood, still sidelined with back problems. We could see Greene return to the Top 4 soon.
